UBS convention sees Johnny Herbert discuss the similarities between racing and banking
Appearing at the lavish Villa Sarasin in Geneva yesterday Johnny gave a fascinating insight into his career in motorsport at the Union Bank of Switzerland’s (UBS) convention at Palexpo’s Le Grand-Saconnex complex.
With banks in over 50 different countries, delegates flocked from all over Europe to listen to Johnny talk where he discussed his experiences at the highest level of motor sport. He also shared his expert opinion on the current issues surrounding the Formula 1 sport as a whole.
The former British grand prix champion was joined on stage by UBS’ very own Rolf Ganter who works in the wealth management division of the bank. Rolf is also an automotive specialist and passionate about all things motor racing and applied his expertise to the tricky finance of Formula 1.
Alongside Rolf, Johnny was able to transfer the skills he learned throughout his motorsport career and apply them to a banking and business environment. As well as his world famous Formula 1 career, Johnny was able to reflect upon some of his other highlights from over a decade in the sport. This included his famous victory in the prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans race, the toughest endurance race on the planet.
