Johnny’s Autobiography Up for Prestigious Award

We are delighted to report that Johnny’s outstanding autobiography What Doesn’t Kill You… has been nominated for the Autobiography of the Year prize at the Cross Sports Book Awards. Johnny sees his fascinating life story longlisted and going up against the likes of Jamie Vardy, Greg Rutherford and Jason and Laura Kenny.

Exceeding publisher’s expectations in terms of sales, Johnny’s autobiography provides a fascinating insight into life behind the wheel for a professional motorsport driver, as well as discussing the traumatic crash and miraculous recovery that shaped his career in 1988.

Written in Johnny’s naturally humorous style, the book covers all the highs and the lows of his extraordinary 25-year career. Some of the success that he talks about include becoming British Junior Karting Champion, winning the Formula 3 title and being the only British driver to win the 24-Hour Le Mans. Johnny‘s three Formula 1 Grand Prix’s victories are covered in the book including  1995 British Grand Prix win which he still has fond memories of.

With a wealth of fascinating anecdotes from his time in the sport, Johnny provides a unique insight into what it was like to compete alongside some of the greatest names in racing including Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna and Damon Hill.

The final shortlist will be announced on April 27th 2017 with the overall winner being announced at a ceremony at Lord’s Cricket Ground on May 24th 2017.
