Rosberg pips Hamilton to the Monaco Grand Prix

Nico Rosberg climbed back to the summit of the Drivers’ Championship after beating his Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Rosberg started in pole position, though Saturday’s qualifying was filled with controversy after the German prevented Hamilton from completing his final lap, but a stewards’ investigation ruled that it was an innocent driver error.

Hamilton pushed his team-mate right until the end of the race but the Monaco track is notoriously difficult to overtake on and Rosberg held on to take victory. Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo managed to close down the gap on Hamilton, but was ultimately unable to overtake and finished the race in third.

Johnny commented: “This season has already had plenty of exciting moments and I’m sure there will be many more twists and turns to come. The battle between Rosberg and Hamilton is one of the most intriguing in recent memory and it will come down to who is hungrier for the title.”
