Ricciardo ends Mercedes dominance at Canadian Grand Prix

For the first time this season, Mercedes finished second best as Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo triumphed at the Canadian Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg still managed to extend his lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship table to 22 points after finishing second.

In an exciting finish, Rosberg lost the lead just two laps from the finish line and just managed to hold onto second place ahead of Sebastian Vettel.

Lewis Hamilton endured another frustrating race after running in second to Rosberg for most the race but being forced to withdraw in the 47th lap with brake failure.

Ricciardo started the race in sixth, three places behind his Red Bull teammate Vettel, but once again out-drove the German as he has done all season.

Johnny said: “It as an extremely exciting race this week and I feel sorry for Lewis, who has been unlucky more than once this season. Even though he didn’t win the race, Rosberg will be pleased to extend his lead even further.”
