The Johnny Herbert Karting Challenge 2013

The Johnny Herbert Karting Challenge 2013 took place at the UK's biggest and newest indoor karting venue – Capital Karts Barking on Saturday 30th November.

Funds were being raised for 'The halow project' of which Damon Hill is a patron and Sam Bird an ambassador.

19 Teams of over 100 drivers battled it out in a 3 hour endurance race on this massive circuit that see's lap times of over 70 seconds.

1St was headed by Sam Bird and included Tom Hunt (son of James) Riki Christodolou, Tamsin Germain and Connor Mills, on his final stint Connor set a  new lap record of 66.890 secs just prior to the chequered flag.

2nd place was taken by solo driver Howard Kayman and in the process raised much more than his entry fee for the charity with such a sterling effort.

3rd place was a longtime supporter of Johnny's Challenge Lane Bednash and his team 'Rapid Response'.

4th place went to Team Force Kingfisher headed by James Griffith.

5th place went to a Red Bull Racing team from the F1 World Champions lead by Matthew Hibbert

Funds were also boosted by a trackside memorabilia auction before the trophy presentation was conducted by Johnny.

A great day was had by all and 'The halow project' benefited by over £10,500and still counting.
